Intel to push out everything in 2009

Just a quarter or less
Thursday, 20 November 2008, 16:19

IT LOOKS LIKE Intel is doing the a new dance, this one is to the tune of the 'economic blues roadmap shuffle'. Most everything they are making in 2009 is pushed out a bit.

The most obvious are the 'dales', not 'Chip and....', but Auburndale and Havendale, not to mention Clarksfield, were pushed out a bit earlier, from late Q2/early Q3 to out a bit. Now they look to have slipped a full quarter.

The 2S Tylersburg parts also move a bit, but not that much. These parts slide about a month or so, understandable since they are quite near term, they are likely going into the oven about now anyway.

The interesting thing about these pushbacks is that the people we talked to were not given a reason for it to happen. Normally, they are at least told why in vague terms, usually with product change paperwork in tow, but this time is different. That, coupled with the fact that there are Nehalems on the market now, leads us to think this is an inventory / sales / pricing / economic slowdown decision.

In any case, if you are saving you pennies for a new laptop or desktop, and are worried about the interest rate from the pink ceramic pig on your shelf will prevent you from being first in line, fear not. Intel has heard your pleas, and is moving the entire company for people like you (1). ยต

(1) Not really, but we had you going there, didn't we?

So Charlie Got Last Butt....

Intel was Vs. IBM, then AMD started Perch. finally AMD Overtook Intel with New Lower Pricing making gobs of sales. Yet, Now Intel is Back into #1 Seat. This cycle takes years, maybe 8 years for total revolution of one item. What could Fail? Maybe Larrabee 40 cores turn sour, OutSide that, Looks Like Clear Intel Skies For Half Decade. What?

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the author of this story did absolutely no editing whatsoever. It makes about as much sense as Drashtek's comments... Seriously!

@ Drashek

I'm in a state of shock. Drashek's comment actually makes a bit of sense.... Can it be? :s
